Porto Cristo, on Mallorca's east coast, is the gateway to a stretch of coastline far less crowded than the Bay of Palma. From here you sail to the spectacular Cuevas del Drach caves seen from the sea and to Cala Varques, one of the island's few unspoilt coves with no buildings around it, whose access on foot is restricted under protection regulations — making it one of the favourite stops for those setting out from this port.
You can also reach the Mondragó Natural Park, with very clear, shallow water close to shore, ideal if you're travelling with children or trying a day on a boat for the first time. It's the stretch of coast we recommend most for families among our five ports.
Porto Cristo is the most logical option if you're staying in the Manacor, Felanitx or Llevant area in general, since it avoids the drive to Palma. One thing to keep in mind: being on the east coast, it isn't the best port if your plan for the day is watching the sunset from the water — for that we recommend Palma or Port Adriano.
